Sometimes some of the simplest things in life are the things that we take for granted or neglect. When it comes to disposing of your trash or recycling, making sure you follow a few guidelines will ensure proper compliance with local ordinances.
Setting Out Containers
Containers must be in the proper placement in order to ensure pickup. If you have multiple containers or types of containers, they must be placed 5 feet apart. The containers must also have lids closed and be facing the street so they can be properly and safely emptied.
Put Containers Away
Local city ordinances require that waste and recycle containers are returned to their proper place within 24 hours of pickup. Bins are not allowed to be left by the road and residents will be found in violation of local city ordinances if the bins are not placed back where they belong. Residents who fail to comply may face penalties or fines from the city. Please remember to do your part and put away any and all bins once they are emptied, in a timely manner!
If you live in a multi-unit house or apartment, it is your responsibility to make sure that your corresponding bin is taken care of.
